JALALABAD (PAN): Five suspected suicide attackers were killed in a blast caused by their own explosives in the eastern province of Nuristan, the governor said on Saturday.
The five were receiving suicide attack training in a house in the Chatrash area, 15 kilometres from Paroon, the provincial capital, when the blast took place late on Friday.
Governor Jamaluddin Badr told Pajhwok Afghan News two of the dead were Arabs and three Afghans.
Police chief Shams-ur-Rahman Nuristani, meanwhile, said two militants were killed during an ongoing search operation in Paroon.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said he was unaware of the deaths of suicide bombers. The two killed by police during the search operation were not Taliban fighters, he added.
