SAR-I-PUL (PAN-designated chief for Sancharak district of central Sar-i-Pul province has been shot dead along with six of his associates, an official said on Sunday.
Mullah Mastoor was gunned down by a civilian in Sholgara district of northern Balkh province late on Saturday night, the provincial deputy police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Col. Syed Jahangir said Mastoor was killed along with his accomplices by Mohammad Daud, who was kidnapped from Gosfandi district of Sar-i-Pul.
The captive and two of Mastoor’s men were wounded in the overnight incident, according to the official, who said Daud later surrendered to police. He is currently under medical treatment.
