GHAZNI CITY (PANinfo-icon): Three guards of a private security company were killed when Talibaninfo-icon fighters attacked a logistics convoy of foreign soldiers in the southern province of Ghazni on Friday, an official said.

One vehicle was destroyed as a result of the attack that took place in Qarabagh district at about 10am, the provincial police chief, Col. Zarawar Zahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

As usual, the Taliban asserted responsibility for the attack, with their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid saying that six guards were killed and three vehicles destroyed.

In eastern Kunar province, two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers drowned when their speeding vehicle fell in a river in the Salar Bagh area on Kunar-Nangarhar highway.

Deputy police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Saboor Allahyar, said the body of one soldier had been fished out and a search was underway for the other.

The body was handed over to the victim's family, Asadabad Civil Hospital director Dr. Farooq Sahak said.
