Arm cache seized in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (PAN): A huge arms cache was discovered in a series of search operations by security forces in southern Helmand province, an intelligence official said on Saturday.

The weapons included six machineguns, 12 Kalashnikovs, two rocket shells, five walkie-talkies, 28 magazines, a pistol, eight mines, a motorcycle and others, provincial intelligence chief, Nazar Ali Wahidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The Taliban for us in their spring offensive, he said, adding a suspect had been detained. The detainee was currently under interrogation, he said.
