MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN):  A local police commander was injured in a roadside bombing in the central province of Maidan Wardak on Thursday, officials said.

The police commander was guarding a road construction project the in Shah Kabul area of Nirkh district, the administrative head of the town, Mohammad Hanif Hanifi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The commander, Toraki, and his guard were seriously injured and taken to a health facility of foreign troops in neighbouring Logar province.

Police have launched a hunt for the perpetrators, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, said. The commander had been injured in a similar blast two years ago.
