3 children die in blast; 11 rebels detained

HERATCITY (PAN, officials said on Saturday.

Seven insurgents were detained with weapons and explosives in the Bakwa district of Farah province, NATO‘s media office for western zoon said in a statement. Another two militants were captured in Pusht Rod district, it said.

Two more suspects were detained in Tonyan area of Herat city, the capital of western Herat province, western zoon police spokesman, Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Elsewhere, three children, who were brothers, have been killed in a roadside bombing in the Charkh district of central Logar province, an official said.

The three were riding on a rickshaw when the blast took place in the Dabar area. Driver of the three-wheeler was injured and the three brothers lost their lives in the blast, Col. Ghulam Sakhi Rough Liwania, the provincial police chief, said.
