Teen-age girl carried out Kunar attack: Taliban

ASADABAD (PANinfo-icon): A suicide attack on the Afghan security guards, escorting foreign troops in the eastern province of Kunar, was carried out by a female, the Talibaninfo-icon said on Saturday..

The suicide bombing took place at 1.00pm in the Lahore Daag area of Marawara district, where Counterterrorism Pursuit Teams (CTP) were escorting foreign soldiers.

A burqainfo-icon-clad suicide bomber blew herself up when the troops were passing through the area, deputy police chief, Abdul Saboor Allahyar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The ISAFinfo-icon media office in the east said one security guard was killed and two others were wounded in the explosion.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the attack was carried out by an 18-year-old girl, a resident of Kunar. He said a dozen security guards were killed and two of their vehicles destroyed.
