SHEBERGHAN (PAN insurgents from his house in the northern province of Jawzjan, an official said Monday.
Mohammad was seized late on Sunday night on the charge of cooperating with the government in the Sherbaik village of Qush Tepa town, said the district chief, Aminullah.
Tribal elders and influential figures would talk to local Taliban commanders on releasing the captive, he told Pajhwok Afghan News.
“The Taliban took away the teacher from his residence,” confirmed a local tribal elder, Shah Mardan Qul. The man had no links to the security personnel, he added.
Last year, the militants beheaded a high schoolteacher in the same village days after his abduction.
