MP’s husband shot dead in Laghman

JALALABAD (PANinfo-icon): The husband of Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon member Farishta Anwari was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on the Kabulinfo-icon-Jalalabad highway in eastern Laghman province, officials said on Tuesday.

Police found Mirza Mohammad Shinwari's body on Tuesday morning on the highway between Surkhakan and Kherokhel areas of Qarghayee district, traffic department head, Col. Samad Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Shinwari's corpse was taken to the Laghman Civil Hospital by police, Director of Public Healthinfo-icon Dr. Abdul Latif said. The municipality provided shroud and for the body, Laghman Mayor Abdullah Niazi said.

Parliamentarian Farishta Anwari said she was informed that her spouse had been wounded seriously in a road crash. However, she came to know later on that Shinwari had been gunned down.
