CHARIKAR fighters during an operation in the central province of Parwan, officials said on Wednesday.

The offensive was conducted in the Qamchaq valley of Siah Gird town, the district chief, Abdul Aleem Mujaddedi, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The bodies were taken to a district clinic, he said.

“The clash lasted three hours,” said a resident of the valley, Waisuddin, who had no information regarding casualties.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the insurgents had killed six policemen as a result of an ambush in the area. Two fighters were killed and a third injured during the clash, he said.
