MAHMUD RAQI (PAN): A rocket struck a school in central Kapisa province, killing the principle, and injuring two teachers and five students, officials said on Sunday.

The rocket landed on Wahdat High School at 11am during a clash between Taliban fighters and security personnel in Tagab district, the district police chief, Col. Padshah Gul Bakhtyar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

It was not cleared yet which party fired the rocket that hit the school, he said.

The injured were taken to the health facility of French troops in the district, where the two teachers were in critical condition, said a teacher at the school, Shah Pur.

The ongoing operations against militants were launched Sunday morning by Afghan and international security forces in Jalukhel, Narozkhel and Koh-i-Ghal villages of the district, the police chief said.
