MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): A roadside bomb blast ripped through a tank of foreign troops in the central province of Maidan Wardak, where several rockets were fired at a district headquarters, officials said on Friday.
The ISAF vehicle was blown up in the Syedabad district early on Friday, local officials said. The district chief, Dr. Muslim, said there were no casualties.
Resident Ihsanullah said the military tank caught fire due to the blast that happened in the Dehdaka village. He said later two helicopters arrived at the scene and cordoned off the site.
There has been no word from ISAF about the incident that came three days after three foreign troops were killed in a similar attack in Syedabad. That attack was claimed by the Taliban.
Elsewhere in the province, suspected militants fired at least six rockets into the Chak district centre late on Thursday night. The district chief, Ismail Wafa, said the shells had landed on uninhabited areas, causing no casualties.
