NATO pilot-less aircraft crashes in Kunar

ASADABAD (PAN-led troops has crashed in the Khas Kunar district of eastern Kunar province, witnesses and the western military alliance said on Tuesday.

Abdullah, who claims to have witnessed the crash, said the aircraft went down at around 2pm in Shamkar area of the district.

NATO’s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF on Tuesday.

“The crash site is secure and the aircraft is being recovered,” the force said in a  statement, adding the cause of the crash was under investigation, but initial reports indicated there was no insurgent activity in the area at the time.

But the Taliban claimed to have shot down the plane.  Rebel spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the plane crashed after the fighters opened fire on it.
