QALAT (PAN for 140 students from their province.
Students from Zabul have faced problems in the past finding accommodations in Kabul, students said.
Wahidullah, who is in Kabul for university, said he was happy with the facility. Previously he had to stay in a rented house.
He said so far 140 students had found such facilities with the help of MPs. The students were provided with food as well, he said.
The father of a student, Haji Naek Mohammad from Shah Joy district, said the hostel facility for his son had reduced his own financial burden.
He said that earlier he had to give his son 12,000 Afs to pay his accommodation and other expenses, but now the expenses were reduced to 3000 Afs per month.
He said providing housing was one of the Zabul MPs’ campaign promises.
However, the father said it would not be enough to provide hostel facility to only 140 students. There are many more students facing housing problems, he said.
There are four MPs from Zabul, including one woman. Three of them have been disqualified by a special election court, whose decision is the subject of an ongoing legal dispute.
