CHARIKAR commander as a result of an old enmity in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province, police said on Friday.
The incident took place at around 11am in the fifth police district of the capital city, Col. Farooq, the district police chief in-charge, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The clash left two men dead and a former jihadi commander, Syed Mohammad, injured, he said. The two men had entered Mohammad’s house and shot him injured. The men were killed by guards of the commander, he said.
Charikar civil hospital head, Abdul Khalil Farhangi, confirmed receiving two dead bodies and Syed Mohammad in injured condition at the hospital.
Mohammad was referred to a hospital in Kabul after preliminary treatment, he said.
Resident and witness of the incident, Amrullah said, every Friday a gathering took place at the house of the former jihadi commander.
A gathering was taking place at Mohammad’s residence, when gunfire was heard, he said. He said he saw Mohammad with his shoulder bleeding. Later two dead bodies were brought out from his house, the witness said.
He said the two men killed in the incident were brothers. The reason behind the dispute could not be ascertained.
