KABUL): US Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez is scheduled to lead a trade mission, involving representatives from 10 companies, to Kabul in September.
Sanchez will head entrepreneurs who are interested in pursuing export, partnership and investment opportunities in Afghanistan, the US department of Commerce said on Sunday.
The undersecretary was quoted as saying: “The bilateral relationship between the United State and Afghanistan is changing, and it’s important that we develop partnerships that ensure a strong Afghanistan.
“These companies offer American products, services and technologies that will bring economic benefits to the Afghan people and also stimulate American job growth,” he added.
According to the statement, the Afghan market offers US companies important investment opportunities particularly in the agribusiness, extractive industries and housing sectors.
One-on-one meetings will be arranged between the delegation members and potential agents, distributors and partnersthat will allow participating firms to prepare for entering or expanding their presence in these sectors.
