KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): As many as 1,400 Afghan army recruits completed a two-month basic training in southern Kandahar province on Thursday, an official said.

The graduates would be deployed to Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul and Uruzgan, said Big. Gen. Abdul Hamid, the 205th Atal Military Corps commander.

Asking residents for cooperation with the security personnel, he said the graduates had been trained, both theoretically as well as practically.

Asadullah, a resident of Arghandab district and one of the graduates, was happy over completing the training and getting the opportunity to serve the people.
