New power stations start supply to 3 districts

Aug 09, 2011 - 17:48

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Six newly-built power stations started supplying electricity to three districts north Kabul, benefiting around 2,000 families, officials said on Tuesday.

Da Afghanistaninfo-icon Brekhna Shirkat (DABS) chief, Abdul Raziq Samadi, told the inauguration ceremony in the Kalkan area that the project had cost 40 million afghanis.

Kabul electricity chief, Shakib Ahmad Nisar, said the six stations had capacity to produce1.5 megawatts of power, which was not sufficient for the three districts. New power stations are being built to overcome the shortfall.
