ISLAMABAD(PANinfo-icon): Six Talibaninfo-icon fighters and five Pakistani soldiers were killed in a blast and a clash in the Kurram tribal region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an official said on Thursday.

Five soldiers were killed and three others wounded when the vehicle they were traveling in hit a roadside bomb in the Sadda Bazaar area at about 10am, a local official said on condition of anonymity.

The wounded soldiers, who were airlifted to a healthinfo-icon facility, are reported to be in stable condition. Soon after the blast, the soldiers conducted an operation in the area, killing six insurgents, he said.
