Burqa-clad men detained in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN-clad suspected men in the Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province, officials said on Wednesday.

The individuals were detained in the Baba Wali Ziarat area on Tuesday afternoon, the governor’s spokesman, Zalmay Ayubi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Several documents, mobile phones and other materials were recovered from their possession. The men were currently under investigation, Ayubi said.   

District chief Haji Muhammad Shah Muhammad confirmed the arrests, saying investigations would reveal what they their objectives were.
