5 dead in Waziristan drone strike

ISLAMABAD (PAN‘s tribal region of North Waziristan, near the Afghan border, on Tuesday, an official said.

A drone fired two missiles on a house at 4am, killing five people and injuring three others in the Kandikhel area on the outskirts of Miranshah, a political administration official, Taslim Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The house was destroyed as a result of the attack, but it was not clear whether the victims were civilians or militants, he said.

However, local journalist Malik Mumtaz said the victims were ordinary local residents.  Several drones were hovering over the area after the blitz, causing panic among residents.
