Ban, Karzai discuss new UN envoy’s appointment

KABUL, the Presidential Palace said on Tuesday.

The two leaders discussed the issue late night on Monday. The tenure of Staffan de Mistura, the present UN representative, will soon come to an end.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said Karzai and Moon agreed to meet at the upcoming Bonn conference on Afghanistan. The secretary general congratulated the president on the successful holding of Loya Jirga.
