KABUL): An international standard cricket stadium would be inaugurated in the capital Kabul on Sunday, when a friendly match is scheduled to take place between the national team and the under-19 side, an official said on Saturday.
The stadium was constructed with the cost of almost one million US dollars (48790000 afghanis) provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in collaboration with the Care International and Afghan Cricket Board (ACB), the ACB chairman Nasimullah Danish told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Having allied facilities, the stadium is situated in an area between Chaman-i-Hazuri and the Kabul cultural hall, he said. “Parking lot, guest rooms, player galleries, stands for spectators and toilets have been built at the stadium,” he added.
Danish invited Kabul residents to attend the inauguration ceremony and watch the match.
