PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A newly-constructed car park was inaugurated during a ceremony in central Logar province on Monday, officials said.
Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the project cost $150,000 (7,350,000 afghanis) and took one year to complete, Mayor Mohammad Hashim Hussain Khail, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Spread over 1,586 meter square area, the car parking facility in Pul-i-Alam city, the provincial capital, would earn 500,000 afghanis in revenue per year for the municipality, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Atiqullah Lodin said the project would help reduce traffic problems in the city.
The project in-charge, Mohammadullah Alam said the park would help the municipality improve the capacity of its employees.
The Municipality says a dozen of development projects would be being carried in the province next year.
