CHARIKAR): Six buildings for schools and a madrasa (religious school) were reconstructed and provided with necessary equipment in Syedkhel district of central Parwan province, an official said on Wednesday.

Funded by Japan, the projects cost $700000 and took six months to complete, the education director, Zalmai Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The projects included boundary walls of schools, water tanks, bathrooms, wells and buildings, he said.

The building for the Hazrat Abobakr Siddiqui Madrasa has eight classrooms, boundary walls, bathrooms, a well and other facilities.

Nearly 7,315 students would benefit from the projects.
