SHARNA/ASADABAD (PAN): Food aid was distributed to hundreds of poor families in Paktika and Kunar province on Monday, officials said.
Each needy family received 90 kilograms of eatables, the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) head for Kunar, Muhammad Nadir Jabbarkhel, told Pajhwok Afghan News at the distribution ceremony.
Adam Khan, one of the 200 aid recipients, was pleased to receive the assistance. However, he said the aid was not enough to meet his family needs.
Elsewhere in the country, the distribution of food items to 6,571 flood victims and displaced families began in southeastern Paktika province.
Donated by the World Disaster Management Authority (ADMA), Governor Mohibullah Samim said.
