4 insurgents killed, woman injured in Kunar

ASADABAD (PANinfo-icon): Four insurgents were killed and a woman was injured during two separate operations by Afghan and international forces in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Monday.

Two Talibaninfo-icon commanders identified as Niamatullah and Shafiqullah were killed in the Badel valley of Narang district, Maj. Shareen Agha, the 201st Selab Military Corps, spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. A woman also sustained injuries during the offensive that lasted two days, he said.

Another two Taliban fighters were killed and as many other detained during a separate operation in the Marawar district, Agha said, adding security personnel and civilians stayed unhurt.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, confirmed the deaths of two fighters in the Marawar district, but expressed unawareness about the operation in Narang.
