ASADABAD (PAN): Four insurgents were killed and a woman was injured during two separate operations by Afghan and international forces in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Monday.
Two Taliban commanders identified as Niamatullah and Shafiqullah were killed in the Badel valley of Narang district, Maj. Shareen Agha, the 201st Selab Military Corps, spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. A woman also sustained injuries during the offensive that lasted two days, he said.
Another two Taliban fighters were killed and as many other detained during a separate operation in the Marawar district, Agha said, adding security personnel and civilians stayed unhurt.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, confirmed the deaths of two fighters in the Marawar district, but expressed unawareness about the operation in Narang.
