KABUL, the alliance announced on Friday, taking the death toll for foreign troops this month to 10.
Three ISAF soldiers killed on Thursday in an improvised explosive device attack in the south, the force said in a statement, which issued no further details. In a similar attack, another four troops died in the volatile south on Friday.
An eighth service-member was killed during a clash with insurgents also in the south, the statement said, without releasing the nationalities of any of the eight soldiers. The protocol is for further details about the incidents to be released by the soldiers’ home countries.
At least 565 coalition forces were killed in 2011 in the US-led war in Afghanistan, the second highest toll since the invasion of the country in 2001.
According to independent website icasualties.org, the dead incuded 417 from the US, 45www.pajhwok.comfrom other nations. In 2010, the death toll was 711, eclipsing the previous record of 521 in 2009.
