1 foreign soldier dies; 2 wounded

Last year, the deadliest for international soldiers in Afghanistan, 566 foreign troops were killed. American troops have borne the brunt of the casualties.

Separately, two Australian soldiers were wounded when the vehicle they were travelling in struck a roadside bombing in central Uruzgan province

The Australian Defence Department said the area was secured and first aid administered to the wounded diggers soon after Bushmaster vehicle hit the bomb.
