Child dead in Uruzgan blast

TIRINKOT (PAN): One child was killed and three others wounded when an explosives-rigged motercycle exploded in the central province of Uruzgan, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place in the Nawabad village of Dehrawood district on Sunday evening, police spokesman, Farid Aail, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The target was police, but the attack left a child dead and three others, all from the same family, wounded, he said, adding the injured aged between 4 and 12 yearswere were taken to a nearby hospital.

No one has so far claimed responsilbity for the explosion, the district police chief, 1st Lt. Omar Khan, said.
