LASHKARGAH (PAN work on a recreation park in Lashkargah, the provincial capital of southern Helmand province, was launched on Sunday, with most of the funds being donated by residents, an official said.
The project is estimated to cost $50,000 (2,465,000 afs), Mayor Mohammad Fazil Safai told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said the park was being built over nearly half an acre of land and it would have many facilities. The mayor urged residents to support reconstruction of other parks in the area as well.
