KABUL on Wednesday asked private schools and universities to comply with its rules and regulations.
All public and private schools and colleges in remote areas will resume classes on Mar 22, amid reports that some private institutes have already reopened.
The ministry asked private institutions to abide by the rules, urging parents to report to it on the schools charging unwarranted fees.
“Students of private schools must not be forced into paying fees for the winter vacation. Students should be provided uniforms, notebooks, pens and other materials free of cost,” a statement from the ministry said.
It also directed the private institutes to ensure the renewal of their licences and implement the curriculum approved by it. Violators were warned of legal action.
Up to 500 private schools and 42 universities and colleges are operating across Afghanistan.
