KHOST CITY (PAN): Five million trees would be planted and 250 gardens set up as part of a plantation campaign in various areas of southeastern Khost province, officials said on Friday.

Fruit-bearing trees would be planted during the current season in an effort to increase the income of different departments, Governor Abdul Jabar Naeemi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

“We have evolved a plan for looking after the plants to prevent them from being damaged,” said Eng. Fazal Rahim, the acting director of the Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department.
