JALALABAD (PAN): Olive and citrus plantation on 250 acres of land started in the Ghaziabad area of Batikot district in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday, officials said.

Canalisation Department Director Eng. Ziyarat Gul Rahil told Pajhwok Afghan News that 100 students and players were participating in the plantation campaign.

The volunteers would plant citrus trees on 50 acres, olive on 60 acres and orange on 170 acres of land over next three weeks, Rahil said.

According to Qari Obaidullah Ibrahimkhel, a teacher at the Hesar Shahi Camp High School, a 30 members group of his students was also taking part in the drive.
