KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): One civilian was killed and three others wounded when a bomb-rigged motorcycle went off amid a crowd of people at the shrine of a sufi saint in southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said.
The incident happened near the Ibrahim Khalifa Baba Shrine in the Dand district at around 4pm, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Zalmay Ayubi said people in large numbers were flocking into the shrine to visit the weekly fair, when the explosives-packed bike exploded, killing one person and injuring three others, he said.
The injured were rushed to the Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar city, the provincial capital, Ayubi said.
