CHARIKAR): The process of distributing wheat to 20,000 poor families in central Parwan province is underway on Saturday, an official said.
Abdul Kabir Farzam, agriculture department head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the campaign was launched from the capital Charikar, where 180 families received the aid, with each family receiving 100 kilograms of wheat.
Provided by India, the food weighing 2000 tonnes were distributed to destitute families through a special committee, involving officials of different provincial departments, said Farzam.
Nasir Ahmad, a beneficiary of the assistance, urged the government to provide them with wheat for cultivation.
