KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier was killed in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon, the alliance said on Thursday.

The death was announced in a brief statement that neither disclosed the soldier's nationality nor the exact location of the incident.

Mostly American and British soldiers are based in the Talibaninfo-icon’s southern heartland. So far during the current year, 84 foreign troops, including 49Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan. Last year, 566 ISAFinfo-icon soldiers were killed in the country.
