The Afghanistan Cricket Board head for the eastern zone, Qarar Azizi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the event was part of practice for an upcoming national tournament that would begin next week in Jalalabad, the provincial capital.

Besides Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, teams from Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Nuristan provinces are also participating in the Twenty20 tournament.
