Last assailant killed in Logar, say police

PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A sole militant who resumed attacks early Monday morning, targetting a government office in central Logar province, was killed, an official said.

The fighter, who escaped after Sunday’s clashes and moved to another building, started firing at the governor’s office in Logar, said provincial police chief.

Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhsi Rogh Lewani told Pajhwok Afghan News the building, located adjacent to the governor’s office, had been cleared of insurgents on Sunday.

He added the area was currently under control and security forces managed to eliminate the attacker.
