MAIDAN SHAHR (PANinfo-icon): Foreign troops on Wednesday delivered six ambulances in donation to the public healthinfo-icon department in central Maidan Wardak province, the governor’s office said.

The vehicles worth $450,000 (22,446,000 afghanis) had jointly been donated by the Turkish Provincial Reconstructioninfo-icon Team (PRTinfo-icon) and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAFinfo-icon), the governor’s house said in a statement.

It said the assistance would help the department effective deliver its services to the ailing people. The statement asked health officials not to misuse the vehicles.

Public Health Director Dr. Farooq Mukhlis Wardak thanked the PRT and ISAF for the donation, hoping people living in remote areas would benefit from the aid.

The ambulances had all kinds of facilities needed by a patient, he said.
