KABUL published on Friday.
“This particular summit, the Chicago summit, within the context of NATO, is focusing on the Afghan security forces and their support for the years to come,” Ambassador Eklil Hakimi told the New York Times.
President Hamid Karzai would highlight the growing competence of Afghan forces and the need for the global fraternity to lend long-term support to the personnel in terms of training and equipment, he added.
Hakimi claimed progress on issues, including women over the past decade. Afghan women had found their way to parliament, in addition to playing an active role in business and other fields, he said.
