KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Two civilians and a policeman were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-filled belt near a police van in southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said.
The bomber on foot approached the police pick-up vehicle in front of the Spind Boldak district headquarters and detonated the explosives strapped to his body, police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Raziq said. The bomber was mutilated beyond recognition, he said.
Abdul Salam, who owns a shop in the city, said the police vehicle was passing by when the bomber attacked it. He said three people injured the incident were taken to hospital.
