CHARIKAR): A security guard was injured on Monday night when unidentified gunmen hurled a hand grenade at a local radio station in the central Parwan province.
Besides injuring the guard of the Dunya Radio Station, the building was also damaged in the mid-night bomb attack, provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akram Begzad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The attack was targeted at the radio station’s newsroom and the incident had inflicted heavy losses amounting to 100,000 afghanis, said the station director Mohammad Shafi Moshfiq.
Moshfiq said he had no enmity with anyone, so the attack could have been carried out by people whose interests were threatened due to the radio station’s broadcast, he said without naming anyone.
The 24-hour radio station broadcasts daily to several provinces — Parwan, Kapisa and Panjsher.
They have launched an investigation into the attack, he said.
