KABUL beyond 2014 will remain focused on training and equipping Afghan security forces.
The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said Vondra at a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Javed Lodin stressed the republic’s continued cooperation with Afghanistan in various sectors.
The statement quoted Vondra as saying that troops from his country would remain in Afghanistan until 2014 and would focus their attention on training Afghan forces beyond that year.
Lodin thanked Vondra for Czech Republic’s assistance to Afghanistan over the past decade, saying Afghanistan was keen to improve its cooperation with the friendly country on various fronts.
Czech Republic has 720 soldiers in Afghanistan. Of them, five have so far been killed.
