CHARIKAR-led soldiers’ fuel supply tankers were torched by insurgents in the Shaikh Ali district of central Parwan province, an official said on Tuesday.
On its way to central Bamyan province, the convoy came under attack in Tang-i-Lali area on the outskirts of the district, the provincial police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akram Bekzad said two fuel tankers were torched and a third damaged in the attack. The insurgents later set the damaged on fire, he said, explaining no one was hurt in the incident.
A month back, two fuel supply tankers of international soldiers were torched in the Siah Gird district. It was the first-ever attack on a NATO convoy in Shaikh Ali district, the police chief concluded.
