2 officials injured in Daulatyar blast

CHAGHCHRAN (PANinfo-icon): Two officials in the Daulatyar district were injured in a bomb attack on Monday in the western province of Ghorinfo-icon, official said.

Acting district chief Maulviinfo-icon Abdul Wali and the National Directorate of Security district h ead, Ali Mohammad, who were on their way to the police department from their office were injured in the attack, said district police chief Col. Abdullah Lalzada.

The bomb planted under a bridge was detonated as the two officials passed the area at about 8:30 am. Both officials are in stable condition, he added.

The Talibaninfo-icon fighters wanted to eliminate the district’s leadership but were not successful, said Wali.

He said the militants were active in the northern areas of the district and even fired missiles at the district’s headquarters from nearby mountains, but inflicted no casualties.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
