ASADABAD (PAN): A child was killed after Pakistani army fired 50 missiles at the Narai district in the eastern Kunar province, officials said on Tuesday.

Pakistan fired 50 missiles on Sunday and Monday nights in the Batash area of the district, causing heavy losses and displacing people, the governor’s spokesman, Wasifullah Wasifi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A child was also killed in the missile attack, he said.

The central government, trilateral committee and Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been informed about the incident and we would like the matter to be solved through dialogue, he said.

A local resident, Najibullah, said Pakistani army fired missiles on the bordering district over the past one month and it had created lot of hardship for the people.

“We want the government to talk with Pakistani government or let the people decide about the defence of their area,” he said.
