QUETTA (PANinfo-icon): Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a publi transport bus, killing 18 passengers and injuring two others, in Pakistaninfo-icon's southwestern Balochistan province on Saturday, police said.

A local police officer, Mohammad Shakil, told Pajhwok Afghan News six gunmen on motorcycles stopped the bus and shot dead the 18 passengers, injuring two others. “The attackers fled the area but we have mounted a manhunt for the killers,” he said.

A local journalist, Bahram, said the incident took place in the Turbat area near Pakistan's border with Iran. Five Afghans and 13 people from Punjab province died in the assault. The bus was transporting Shiite Muslims to Iran, he added.
