Clinton makes surprise visit to Kabul

KABUL.

The US embassy confirmed her trip and said Clinton would meet President Hamid Karzai at the Presidential Palace before heading to Japan to participate in the Tokyo Conference.

Some 70 countries are meeting in Japan on Sunday to discuss new funding for Afghanistan post-2014, when foreign troops are schedule to withdraw from the country.
